In a tragic incident in Nagasandra, Bengaluru, Kavya (34) was allegedly murdered by her husband, Kariyappa, during a heated argument over financial matters on Wednesday afternoon. The couple had been embroiled in disputes over money for nearly a week, particularly after Kariyappa brought home ₹2 lakh (roughly $2,400 USD), which sparked further conflict when Kavya insisted it should go to his elder brother. During the argument, Kariyappa reportedly stomped on her neck, resulting in her death. Neighbors noted that the couple frequently argued about property and money, and they had two children together. A friend of Kariyappa, Venkatachalayya, alleged that his behavior and possible extramarital affairs may have played a role in the tragic event, claiming that Kavya was hurt by his interactions with other women. The Peenya police have taken Kariyappa into custody and are investigating the incident from multiple angles, including financial disputes and personal issues. The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination, and a murder case has been registered.
