On Wednesday, BEML Limited, a defense public sector undertaking in India, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to collaborate on metro rail projects both domestically and internationally. This partnership aims to create a framework for cooperation, focusing on jointly identifying, pursuing, and executing metro rail projects. The MoU signifies a strategic shift from a supply-driven model to a more comprehensive Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) approach, which will enhance the delivery of end-to-end metro solutions. Earlier, on November 7, 2025, Union Minister of Housing & Urban Affairs Manohar Lal Khattar announced that DMRC, through its subsidiary Delhi Metro International Limited (DMIL), will serve as the nodal agency for executing various projects in India and abroad. Recently, BEML secured its first overseas metro train order valued at around $60 million USD for a project in the African region, marking a significant milestone in its international operations.
