A new exhibition titled 'Queen Elizabeth II: Her Life in Style' opens at the King’s Gallery in Buckingham Palace, celebrating the late queen's centenary with over 300 garments and fashion artifacts. The exhibition showcases Elizabeth's evolution from a young princess to Britain's longest-reigning monarch, emphasizing her unique style and the role of fashion in diplomacy. Curator Caroline de Guitaut notes that the queen understood how color and detail in her attire communicated messages of respect and recognition. Among the highlights are the queen's clear plastic raincoat, designed to keep her visible during inclement weather, and an outfit worn by her stunt double during the 2012 London Olympics. The exhibit also includes personal items, such as her christening robe and wedding dress, and explores her off-duty wardrobe, featuring tweed suits and outdoor clothing. The exhibition runs until October 18, providing a comprehensive look at Elizabeth's lasting impact on fashion.
