Florida State University's Splatoon team achieved a significant victory against Oklahoma Baptist University, winning 5-2 in a best-of-nine set to advance to the Collegiate Cephalopod Association's (CCA) Division 7 semifinals. The Goldies took an impressive 4-0 lead, dominating in both Rainmaker and Clam Blitz modes. Although Oklahoma Baptist managed to secure two wins, Florida State clinched the match with a knockout on the Rainmaker in the Robo ROM-en map. This advancement marks only the third time in the program's history that the team has reached the semifinals, with their last appearance resulting in a national championship win in 2023. Team captain Ghastomnight expressed immense pride in the team's progress, while newcomer Revolution noted the valuable learning experience gained throughout the competition. The Goldies are set to face UC Santa Cruz in the semifinals, with the date and time yet to be announced.
