The college basketball transfer portal officially opened on April 7, 2025, with more than 1,500 players declaring their intentions. Among them are two players from the Dayton Flyers: sophomore guard Bryce Heard and Sean Pouedet, a guard from Belgium, who averaged 5.3 minutes in 14 appearances this season. Heard's decision to enter the portal was reported last week, while Pouedet's name appeared on the portal list on the same day it opened. In contrast, two players, redshirt sophomore forward Jaiun Simon and sophomore forward Amaël L’Etang, have publicly committed to remaining with the program. Freshman guard Jaron McKie, who sat out the season due to shoulder surgery, has also decided to stay but has not made a public announcement. Three players—junior guard De’Shayne Montgomery, redshirt freshman forward Malcolm Thomas, and freshman forward Damon Friery—are still undecided about their future with the team. Players have until April 21 to finalize their decisions regarding the transfer portal.
