A 25-year-old British flight attendant was arrested in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) after sharing a video of a drone strike at Dubai airport in a private WhatsApp group. This incident occurred on March 7, coinciding with the airport's first attack. The UAE has implemented strict cybercrime laws, warning that sharing images or videos of such incidents can result in a minimum of one year in prison and fines starting at £20,000. The flight attendant has been detained for over 20 days in unsanitary conditions and could face up to two years in jail and a £40,000 fine. Radha Stirling, CEO of Detained in Dubai, noted that two other British nationals are also imprisoned for similar offenses, which may be classified as federal crimes against national security. Legal representation is challenging in these cases, with lawyers often charging exorbitant fees. Since the onset of conflict, the UAE has faced numerous missile and drone attacks from Iran, resulting in 10 civilian deaths and 217 injuries.
