On April 2, 2026, a review meeting regarding election preparations was conducted in Udhagamandalam, Nilgiris District, led by Lakshmi Bhavya Tanneeru, the District Collector. Tanneeru highlighted the importance of addressing complaints reported through the cVIGIL mobile application, particularly those concerning violations of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC). She instructed that issues related to election code violations, such as unauthorized posters and banners, must be promptly addressed by local officials. Additionally, it was stressed that all polling stations should be equipped with essential amenities, including ramps, drinking water, toilets, and electricity. The Collector also called for swift action on applications from political parties submitted via the Suvidha portal, ensuring that campaign activities adhere to the permissions granted. Special arrangements are to be made for elderly individuals and tea estate workers to facilitate their travel to polling stations, potentially involving the Transport Department for transportation needs. To enhance voter engagement, students will participate in awareness initiatives to promote the significance of voting.
