India is making efforts to bring back Formula 1 racing by addressing tax issues that plagued the series during its previous tenure from 2011 to 2013. Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya stated that it will take about six months to work out the necessary modalities for tax relaxations, which are essential for making the event financially viable for organizers. The government is keen to resolve the historical contention over entertainment taxes and freight duties that previously hindered F1's operations in the country. Mandaviya noted that if the entertainment tax cannot be entirely repealed, they will seek to provide reimbursements to incentivize the project. The Buddh International Circuit, located on the outskirts of New Delhi, was a favorite among drivers, and seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton has shown interest in racing there again. Additionally, India's richest business conglomerate, the Adani Group, is exploring opportunities to acquire the circuit and surrounding businesses, potentially boosting efforts to bring F1 back. Formula 1 is currently broadcast in India through the digital sports platform FanCode, which has a growing fan base of 79 million.
