The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a revised final answer key for the University Grants Commission-National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) December 2025 session, adhering to a recent order from the Delhi High Court. This revision comes after candidates raised concerns regarding discrepancies in the History paper, specifically citing errors in nine questions and two translations during the objection period. The court's intervention was prompted by a candidate, Kartikey Kahol, who claimed he missed qualifying for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) by just two marks due to incorrect answer options provided by the NTA. In its ruling, the court directed the NTA to award Kahol the two marks needed for eligibility and mandated the formation of an expert committee within four weeks to review the grievances of candidates. With approximately 60,777 candidates having taken the History paper, the court acknowledged that the alleged discrepancies could impact a significant number of aspirants. Students had previously referenced standard academic sources in their objections, yet reported that their concerns were dismissed without adequate explanation.
