The district administration has confirmed that the number of polling stations in the 56-Thally Assembly Constituency has increased to 321 for the upcoming 2026 Assembly elections. This change comes after a temporary rise to 348 polling stations during the COVID-19 pandemic, when the Election Commission limited the number of voters per station to 1,000. The administration clarified that the previous increase was not a permanent arrangement. For the 2024 Parliamentary elections, the number was rationalized back to 305. To ensure better accessibility, polling stations with over 1,200 voters were split, resulting in the creation of 15 new stations. Additionally, a new polling station was established at Milithikki specifically for 641 voters from the nearby Panduranganthotti village, reducing their travel distance. Furthermore, 68 polling stations in hilly areas are part of the Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiatives to promote voter inclusion.
