M.A. Baby, the general secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), expressed a willingness to accept electoral support from organizations such as the Socialist Democratic Party of India (SDPI) in the Kerala Assembly elections, provided it is a voluntary decision on their part. He indicated that such support could reflect a change in the SDPI's political stance, despite their previous involvement in violence, particularly the murder of activist Abhimanyu M. in 2018. Baby emphasized that the CPI(M) does not form alliances with communal organizations, unlike the Congress party, which he accused of seeking electoral advantages through such partnerships. Additionally, he criticized the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) for failing to deliver on its promises, such as bringing back black money and depositing ₹15 lakh (approximately $18,000 USD) into citizens' accounts. He also rebuffed Rahul Gandhi's assertion that the Congress party represents leftist ideals, arguing that Congress has compromised its values by supporting anti-worker policies.
