Hamideh Soleimani Afshar, 47, niece of the late Iranian General Qasem Soleimani, was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in Tujunga, Los Angeles, along with her daughter Sarinasadat Hosseiny, 27. Afshar has been labeled a 'crazed stalker' following a series of harassment incidents directed at her former partner, Zare Mandani, a Los Angeles hairdresser. Mandani secured a five-year restraining order against her after experiencing emotional abuse and persistent unwanted contact. He described Afshar as a 'crazy lady' and expressed relief at her arrest, stating, 'Thank God she’s been arrested and is going to be deported.' Afshar entered the U.S. on a tourist visa in 2015, obtained asylum in 2019, and achieved Green Card status in 2021. Her daughter arrived in the U.S. in 2021 and received a Green Card in 2023. Concerns have been raised regarding their multiple trips to Iran, which have led to their Green Cards being revoked due to alleged connections with the Iranian government. Afshar has also made public statements supporting the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and has been critical of the United States.
