During a series of rallies in West Bengal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) aims to replicate its 2021 electoral success in Nandigram in Bhabanipur and throughout the state. Modi criticized the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) for its governance and corruption, promising a range of reforms if the BJP comes to power, including restoring public trust and addressing alleged scams. He pointed out the state's failure to achieve self-reliance in fish production, attributing this to the inefficiency of the TMC government. Modi's speeches, delivered in East Midnapore, Asansol, and Birbhum, also referenced the violence in Bogtui, labeling TMC rule as “jungle raj.” In response, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee defended her party's record, asserting that the TMC would maintain its power despite challenges, including alleged voter roll deletions. She highlighted her government's efforts to enhance fish production and expressed confidence in the election outcome, suggesting that later counting rounds would favor the TMC.
