In an effort to enhance the relevance of technical education, the Maharashtra education department has signed an agreement with Maker Bhavan Foundation to modernize laboratory infrastructure in engineering colleges. The memorandum of understanding (MoU), signed on April 8, aims to upgrade laboratories in autonomous engineering institutions with advanced technology. This initiative will begin with the establishment of modern ‘Maker Space’ labs in seven government and aided autonomous engineering colleges. These labs will be equipped with digital fabrication tools and prototyping equipment, promoting project-based learning and encouraging innovation, research, and entrepreneurship among students.
