Justin Press, a recent graduate from the University of Central Florida (UCF) with a degree in photonic science and engineering, has created Hire Match AI, an innovative analytics tool that aims to improve the hiring process for companies and applicants alike. Traditional applicant tracking systems (ATS) often filter resumes based on keywords, which can overlook qualified candidates. Press's tool reinterprets hiring data by reparsing resumes and structuring candidate information more accurately. This allows companies to identify which skills and experiences correlate with long-term success in their organizations. Press developed the idea while serving as head of professional development at UCF's Engineering Leadership and Innovation Institute, where he witnessed firsthand the inefficiencies in the job application process. He believes that Hire Match AI will make hiring more data-driven and transparent, reducing the over-reliance on superficial resume filtering. As he prepares for the launch, several businesses have expressed interest in utilizing the platform, which aims to integrate seamlessly with existing ATS solutions. Press encourages fellow students to focus on uniqueness in their ideas, emphasizing the importance of connecting technical solutions to real-world problems.
