On Saturday night, 163 minor boys were rescued in a joint operation by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and the Government Railway Police (GRP) at Katni railway station in Madhya Pradesh. The boys, aged between six and 13, were allegedly being trafficked from the Araria region of Bihar to Latur, Maharashtra, for labor work. Acting on a tip-off from the Child Welfare Committee, the authorities intercepted the group traveling on the Patna-Purna Express without proper tickets or documentation. Eight individuals, all from different districts in Bihar, were arrested under section 143 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The rescued children are currently receiving counseling, and efforts are underway to contact their parents and verify their identities and travel purposes. Some children are being kept in Katni while others are under the care of child protection units in Jabalpur.
