The Haryana government has announced the establishment of a kinnow juice processing plant in Sirsa, with a total investment of ₹26.39 crore. Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi led a meeting to finalize the project details, which will be developed under a public-private partnership (PPP) model with a 33-year concession period. The plant will be located on three acres at the Vita Milk Plant premises and is expected to process 9,000 metric tonnes of kinnow and 12,600 metric tonnes of other fruits annually. This initiative aims to enhance the fruit and vegetable processing industry in the region, particularly focusing on kinnow juice production. Notably, approximately 25% of kinnow production, primarily B-grade fruit that previously received lower prices, will now be utilized for value-added processing, thereby boosting farmers' income significantly.
