India's defence exports have achieved a historic milestone, reaching ₹38,424 crore (approximately $4.6 billion USD) in the financial year 2025-26, representing a significant 62.66% increase compared to the previous fiscal year. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh highlighted this achievement as a reflection of growing global trust in India's indigenous defence capabilities and advanced manufacturing. The increase of ₹14,802 crore over the previous year underscores the success of India's push towards self-reliance in defence. Notably, Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs) accounted for 54.84% of total exports, while the private sector contributed 45.16%, showcasing a balanced collaborative ecosystem.
