Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann announced that the Sant Attar Singh Medical College in Sangrur, Punjab, is on track to open soon after overcoming a land dispute that had stalled the project. Initially budgeted at ₹407 crore (approximately $49 million USD), the estimated cost has risen to about ₹700 crore (around $84 million USD) by 2025. The college will be located near the Sports Authority of India facility in Bahadarpur village. Mann made this announcement during the inauguration of a community health center in Cheema village, which will serve as a 30-bed facility benefiting thousands in the area. He emphasized the importance of modern healthcare facilities, noting that previously, patients had to be referred to larger cities like Sangrur, Patiala, and Ludhiana due to inadequate local resources. Additionally, Mann criticized the central government regarding political tensions in Chandigarh and reiterated his administration's commitment to transparency and public welfare, contrasting it with the governance of previous administrations.
