The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced a comprehensive 20-point manifesto for the upcoming Puducherry Assembly elections scheduled for April 9, 2026. Key promises include providing two free LPG gas cylinders to families holding ration cards during the Pongal and Vinayaka Chathurthi festivals. Additionally, the party plans to launch the ‘Anbu Thangai Thittam’ initiative, offering e-scooters to girls who excel in their Class 12 examinations. The manifesto also emphasizes job creation, proposing 60% domicile reservation for Puducherry youth in Group C and D jobs, along with a 20% reservation for students in public universities across Union Territories. To support local businesses, the BJP intends to establish a ₹1,000-crore MSME Credit Guarantee Fund and provide loans to young entrepreneurs at a 3% interest rate. Infrastructure improvements include the rollout of new electric buses under the PM e-Bus Sewa Scheme, upgrades to railway stations, and initiatives to enhance tourism and agriculture. The manifesto was presented at an event attended by notable leaders, including Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and BJP president V. P. Ramalingam.
