To celebrate its 30th anniversary, the MOBO Awards will host the MOBO Fringe 2026, a week-long series of free events in Manchester from March 19 to March 24. This vibrant celebration will feature over 50 events, including performances, workshops, and community initiatives, showcasing the richness of Black music and culture. Notable events include The Black Sound Gala at Whitworth Gallery and the MOBO Summit in association with Amazon Music, which will focus on the future of music and creative careers. Kanya King CBE, the founder of the MOBO Awards, emphasized the importance of Manchester's musical heritage and the opportunity for local artists and communities to engage in this cultural moment. The festivities will culminate in the MOBO Awards ceremony at Co-op Live on March 26, featuring performances from artists like Olivia Dean and Aitch. This initiative not only celebrates the past but also opens doors for future talent in the music industry.
