The Modern Coach Factory (MCF) in Rae Bareli, Uttar Pradesh, has successfully manufactured its first Vande Bharat Express train, expanding the production capabilities of Indian Railways. This initiative comes as part of the Ministry of Railways' strategy to increase production in response to rising demand. The new train features a rake composition of 16 coaches, does not require locomotives, and has a maximum speed of 160 km/h, with a test speed of 180 km/h. Notably, the train is designed for quicker acceleration, reaching speeds of 160 km/h in just 140 seconds. This development adds to the 97 Vande Bharat trains already produced since 2018, primarily at the Integral Coach Factory in Chennai. The trial run for this newly manufactured train is expected to begin soon, demonstrating advancements in railway technology and design.
