Vikran Engineering's stock surged by 8.79% to ₹60.25 following the announcement of two significant letters of award (LoA) totaling ₹530.80 crore from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MSEDCL). These contracts focus on strengthening distribution infrastructure in the Nashik and Kolhapur zones as part of an Asian Development Bank (ADB)-funded initiative. The Nashik package is valued at ₹235.63 crore, while the Kolhapur package is worth ₹295.17 crore. The projects will involve comprehensive engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) execution, including the establishment of new substations and underground cabling, with a completion timeline of 21 months. Rakesh Markhedkar, chairman and managing director of Vikran Engineering, emphasized that winning these contracts through competitive bidding reflects the company's strong technical capabilities and project management skills. Despite the positive news, Vikran Engineering reported a 37.9% drop in standalone net profit to ₹20.91 crore for Q3 FY26, accompanied by a modest 0.5% increase in net sales to ₹266.46 crore compared to the same quarter last year.
