Indian wrestler Lalit dominated in the semifinals of the men's 55kg Greco Roman category at the Asian Wrestling Championships in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, defeating Huoying Shi of China with a score of 11-3. This victory propels him into the gold-medal match against Ikhtiyor Botirov of Uzbekistan, who won his semifinal bout 5-3. However, it was a challenging day for the Indian contingent as Aman (77kg) and Sunil Kumar (87kg) both lost their semifinal matches. Aman fell to Iran's Ali Oskou with a score of 13-3 and will now compete for bronze against Yeonghun Noh of South Korea. Sunil Kumar, a former champion, lost 0-8 to Iran's Gholamreza Farokhisenjani and will also aim for a bronze medal. In addition, Sunny Kumar and Joginder Rathee faced defeats in their respective categories, while five more Indian wrestlers are set to compete on Tuesday.
