Power Mech Projects has secured a significant ₹296 crore (approximately $36 million USD) Operations & Maintenance (O&M) contract from the Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation (MMMOCL) for the Mumbai Monorail. This contract spans five years and encompasses the maintenance and operation of a 19.54 km route featuring 17 stations, from Sant Gadge Maharaj Chowk to Chembur in Mumbai. The Mumbai Monorail, which has been operational since 2014, is notable for being India's only straddle monorail system. Under this contract, Power Mech Projects will provide comprehensive O&M services, including the operation of new advanced rolling stock and the implementation of a newly upgraded Communication Based Train Control (CBTC) signaling system, aimed at enhancing the efficiency and safety of the monorail service.
