In Bengaluru, Karnataka, a 51-year-old man named Kriplani M has been arrested following serious allegations from a 42-year-old woman employed at Kempegowda International Airport. The woman accused him of prolonged sexual abuse, harassment, and extortion over a period from 2019 to 2023. Initially, the woman met Kriplani under the pretext of marriage, but the relationship quickly turned abusive. She reported that he raped and assaulted her multiple times while also subjecting her to continuous harassment, which forced her to relocate from Indiranagar to Yelahanka. Kriplani allegedly recorded private videos of her, using them to blackmail her for ₹18 lakh (approximately $21,600 USD), and he seized her personal documents to maintain control. The police investigation revealed that he had a history of filing complaints against officials since 2008, and he attempted to intimidate the victim by claiming connections with senior officials. After the woman filed a complaint in December 2025, the case was transferred between police stations due to the accused's interference. His conduct during the investigation raised concerns, culminating in a separate case for assaulting police personnel during a medical examination. He has now been remanded back into custody.
