In Shahdara, New Delhi, a 24-year-old man allegedly stabbed a teenage girl, aged around 16-17 years, multiple times, leaving her critically injured. After the attack, he reportedly committed suicide by igniting an LPG cylinder, causing an explosion in his home. The incident occurred on Friday evening around 5:30 PM. The girl was immediately rushed to GTB Hospital for treatment, where she remains unfit to provide a statement. Preliminary investigations reveal that the suspect, a delivery executive living with his mother, had been harassing the girl for some time. Neighbors and family members indicated that they may have had a prior relationship, leading to the violent confrontation. Following the stabbing, the suspect returned home, where the explosion took place around 6:20 PM. His body was found near the kitchen, with indications that he had left the LPG cylinder open before igniting it. Police are treating the case as attempted murder and are awaiting an autopsy report to determine the cause of death.
