On Sunday, a tragic road accident in the NIBM Annexe area of Mohammadwadi, Pune, claimed the life of 19-year-old Ariz Shaikh, a Class 12 student and national football player. The incident occurred around 5 PM when a speeding water tanker, driven by Ravindra Bhimrao Danane, struck Shaikh near the Siddheshwar temple. Despite being rushed to Ruby Hall Clinic in Wanowrie, he was declared dead on arrival. Following the incident, the driver was taken into custody, and an FIR was registered against him. Additionally, the tanker owner, Nitin Nanaware, was booked under section 304 A of the Indian Penal Code for causing death by negligence.
