During a review meeting, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu addressed the grounding of capital city projects in Amaravati, which are valued at nearly ₹51,000 crore (approximately $6.1 billion USD). He highlighted that out of the total capital works worth ₹57,821 crore, projects valued at ₹50,943 crore are currently stalled. Naidu urged officials and contractors to accelerate work to ensure timely completion and potential inauguration by the Prime Minister. He noted that around 20,000 workers are involved in the construction but raised concerns over manpower shortages due to ongoing elections in various states. The CM instructed contractors to maximize the use of locally available skilled labor and set weekly and monthly targets for project completion. He also stressed the importance of quality, cost-effectiveness, and the implementation of green energy technologies. Naidu expressed strong dissatisfaction over the negligence of construction agencies, particularly in safeguarding materials, following recent fire incidents. He warned that negligence would not be tolerated and directed officials to ensure an uninterrupted supply of essential materials like sand and gravel.
