OpenAI also advocates for fast-response social safety net programs to support workers affected by job displacement and suggests incentivizing employers to explore four-day work weeks without sacrificing productivity. Additionally, the company emphasizes the importance of measuring the effects of AI on wages and unemployment, proposing increased social assistance when certain thresholds are exceeded. OpenAI's chief global affairs officer, Chris Lehane, stated that discussions around AI policy need to be as transformative as the technology itself.
