In the January-March quarter of 2026, LG Electronics India achieved a remarkable milestone by selling over 1 million air conditioners, marking the fastest start to the summer season in the company's history in India. This surge in sales reflects the increasing demand for cooling products as temperatures rise and consumers opt for energy-efficient appliances. To meet this growing demand, LG plans to expand its manufacturing facility in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, later this year as part of its localization strategy and in alignment with the Indian government's Make in India initiative. Hong Ju Jeon, managing director of LG Electronics India, emphasized that crossing the 1 million sales mark is not only a commercial achievement but also a testament to the trust consumers place in the brand. The company has also introduced a wider range of AC models to cater to various consumer needs, from compact homes to larger households. Looking ahead, LG expects continued strong demand in the second quarter of 2026, bolstered by recent Goods and Services Tax (GST) cuts on air conditioners.
