Kondapalli Srinivas, the Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in India, launched the distribution of 5G-enabled smartphones to Village Organisation Assistants (VOAs) to enhance digital communication. On April 6, 2026, Kondapalli Srinivas, the Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in India, launched a program to distribute 5G-enabled smartphones to Village Organisation Assistants (VOAs). This initiative aims to enhance digital communication and improve the efficiency of services provided by VOAs. During the launch, Srinivas acknowledged the historical contributions of the Development of Women and Children in Rural Areas (DWCRA) groups, initiated by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, which have played a pivotal role in promoting women’s leadership. He praised the efforts of SERP Chief Executive Officer V. Karuna and district officials in empowering women. Furthermore, the Minister assured VOAs of his commitment to advocate for a ₹10 lakh (approximately $12,000 USD) accident insurance cover. He stressed the need for greater awareness of existing government schemes aimed at women, aligning with the Chief Minister’s vision of fostering entrepreneurship within every household. Other officials present included SERP Additional Chief Executive Officer R. Sriramulu Naidu and Director A. Kalyan Chakravarthy.
