The Washington Huskies are exploring the possibility of adding Daniel Freitag, a former guard from the University at Buffalo, to their roster as they prepare for the upcoming season. Freitag had a standout year at Buffalo, averaging 19.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game while shooting 36.1% from three-point range. Prior to his time at Buffalo, Freitag transferred from the University of Wisconsin, where he played sparingly during his freshman year. With the Huskies losing sophomore guard Zoom Diallo to the transfer portal, they are in need of scoring depth in the backcourt. Freitag expressed his desire to find a team that respects him and values his contributions, indicating that financial considerations will not be his primary focus in making a decision. Other programs reportedly interested in Freitag include Creighton, Ole Miss, and California, among others. If he joins the Huskies, Freitag is expected to play a significant role as a rotational scorer alongside junior Wesley Yates.
