Titled 'Strengthening Tertiary Health Care Delivery, Medical Education System and Nursing System in Maharashtra,' the project will focus on developing infrastructure and providing advanced medical equipment for newly established Government Medical Colleges in Wardha, Palghar, Ratnagiri, and Ahilyanagar. Additionally, nursing colleges in cities such as Mumbai, Dhule, and Solapur will receive upgrades, while new nursing colleges will be constructed in Baramati, Sangli, and Kolhapur. The initiative aims to ensure affordable medical care for citizens and includes provisions for human resource development in hospital management. Alongside the healthcare project, the cabinet also approved a reform plan to simplify recruitment processes, increasing the number of cadres under the Maharashtra Public Service Commission to 102 and eliminating the mandatory experience requirement for direct recruitment. This reform is part of the broader 'Viksit Maharashtra 2047' vision.
