On April 3, 2026, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation celebrated Gold Star Spouses Day by delivering 30 mortgage-free homes to Gold Star families across 17 states in the United States. This initiative aims to honor the sacrifices made by service members and alleviate financial burdens for their families. Frank Siller, Chairman and CEO of the Foundation, emphasized the importance of ensuring these families have a stable home, free from mortgage concerns. Among the recipients are families of service members who made the ultimate sacrifice, including Marine Corps Sergeant Brian Hector Alvarado and Army Major Alexander Wingate. The Tunnel to Towers Foundation has delivered over 1,700 mortgage-free homes and has committed over $1 billion to support military and first responders. This year, the Foundation aims to deliver 343 homes to Gold Star families and catastrophically injured veterans, furthering its mission to honor the legacy of 9/11 victims and support those who serve.
