A 51-year-old human resources manager from a business process outsourcing (BPO) firm in Nashik, Maharashtra, India, was arrested on Friday in connection with a sexual harassment case involving multiple employees. The Nashik city police had previously served her a notice regarding her role in the matter, which escalated after a woman employee reported a rape incident on March 26. Following this, eight additional employees lodged complaints, leading to the arrest of six individuals on charges of sexual abuse and harassment. Complaints against the HR manager include accusations of trivializing the issues raised by employees and advising them not to take the matter seriously. She has been booked under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for abetment of an offence and defamation. Investigators are looking into whether there was an attempt to suppress the complaints or protect the accused officials, which could indicate complicity. The HR manager is expected to be presented in court alongside the other accused individuals.
