Arvind Kejriwal (National Convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party) has accused Bhupendra Patel (Chief Minister of Gujarat) of conspiring to imprison AAP leaders and workers ahead of local body elections. This allegation follows the arrest of Isudan Gadhvi, AAP's Gujarat President, and 17 others at the Jam Khambaliya police station in Dwarka, where they sought information about a case against another party worker. Kejriwal noted that this incident is part of a troubling trend, with 160 AAP members reportedly arrested in Gujarat over the last three months. He highlighted three specific incidents on March 30 and 31, where AAP workers were allegedly wrongfully detained after minor disputes. Gadhvi, after his release, expressed that the arrests were an attempt to intimidate AAP members, asserting that the public will not tolerate such oppression. He emphasized the right to make representations and criticized the BJP for its actions against AAP. Kejriwal has called for a meeting with Patel to discuss these issues further, claiming that the BJP is fearful of AAP's growing influence in Gujarat.
