Australia's fuel supply remains strong, with Energy Minister Chris Bowen reporting that the country has 39 days of petrol, 29 days of diesel, and 30 days of jet fuel available. As the Easter holiday approaches, the number of service stations running out of diesel has decreased to 312 from previous counts, with significant improvements in New South Wales, Victoria, and Queensland. Bowen noted that more than 50 ships are en route to replenish supplies, and new orders have compensated for any cancellations. The average price for unleaded petrol in major cities is now in the low $2.20s, reflecting a 20 to 30 cents reduction per litre. The minister emphasized the importance of responsible fuel consumption and advised against stockpiling, particularly as the agricultural sector enters its seeding season. The diversification of fuel imports from countries like the US and Mexico has also been highlighted as a positive step amid ongoing geopolitical tensions.
