Isiah Harwell, a former top-20 recruit, has committed to Gonzaga University after spending his freshman season at the University of Houston. The 6-foot-6 shooting guard entered the transfer portal two weeks ago and confirmed his decision via Instagram. Harwell, who was highly sought after during his high school career, averaged only 3.6 points and 2.0 rebounds in limited action at Houston due to complications from an ACL injury. Despite his struggles, he showcased potential by scoring a season-high 20 points in a game against Jackson State. Gonzaga's head coach Mark Few and assistant Brian Michaelson had a positive Zoom call with Harwell prior to his commitment. Harwell's addition bolsters Gonzaga's young backcourt, which will also include Mario Saint-Supery and incoming freshman Jack Kayil, enhancing their prospects for the upcoming season.
