India and Germany are set to strengthen their strategic partnership by enhancing cooperation in defence, renewable energy, and critical technologies, particularly in light of the geopolitical disruptions caused by the West Asia conflict. This decision was made during high-level foreign office consultations held in Berlin, co-chaired by Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and German State Secretary Géza Andreas von Geyr. The discussions included a review of bilateral relations and addressed significant global issues such as the West Asia conflict and the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war. Both nations agreed to diversify their collaboration in various sectors, including digital governance, sustainable development, and industrial collaboration. Misri's visit, which also included meetings with German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul and interactions with policy experts, is part of an ongoing effort to advance cooperation in priority areas and set the stage for future inter-governmental consultations scheduled for later this year.
