Thiyagarayanagar Assembly Constituency, located in Chennai district, Tamil Nadu, will participate in the upcoming 2026 Assembly elections. The Election Commission of India has announced 27 candidates vying for the seat, with notable contenders including Raja Anbazhagan from the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and Sathiyanarayanan B from the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK). This constituency is reserved for the General category and has a population comprising 8.36% Scheduled Caste and 0.05% Scheduled Tribe individuals. With a total of 154,943 voters, the constituency boasts a literacy rate of 90.33% as per the 2011 Census. The elections will be held on April 23, 2026, and the counting of votes will take place on May 4, 2026. In the previous 2021 elections, the DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance secured a significant victory, winning 159 out of 234 seats.
