Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has extended his best wishes to devotees participating in the Char Dham Yatra, which begins on April 19. He expressed hopes for a safe and successful pilgrimage, praying to deities including Baba Kedar and Maa Gangotri for smooth experiences. This year, the state anticipates a record number of pilgrims, with comprehensive arrangements in place to ensure their safety and comfort. Dhami highlighted the importance of collective effort from sanitation workers, police, and administrative officials to facilitate the journey. He also attended the inauguration ceremony for the Char Dham Yatra 2026 in Rishikesh, where he flagged off buses for pilgrims and inspected a free medical camp. Infrastructure developments, including the ₹12,000 crore (approximately $1.45 billion USD) Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor, are expected to enhance travel convenience, with ongoing reconstruction at key shrines like Kedarnath and Badrinath.
