Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced the implementation of the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, which provides 33% reservation for women in both Parliament and state assemblies. Speaking at an event organized by the Stri Samarthya Foundation in Chandigarh, Saini highlighted that this law, pending for decades due to political interests, marks a significant victory for women's aspirations across the nation. He stated that previous governments failed to act on this important issue, but Prime Minister Narendra Modi has treated it as a crucial element of nation-building. The law aims to elevate women's roles from being confined to domestic spaces to becoming leaders in policy-making. Minister Shruti Choudhry praised the initiative as a historic step towards women's empowerment, noting that various schemes have been launched in Haryana to support women’s progress in all fields. The event also recognized several women for their exceptional contributions.
