Florida A&M University (FAMU) baseball completed a successful weekend by sweeping Mississippi Valley State University (MVSU) in their Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) series, winning all three games with scores of 6-5, 14-4, and 14-8. The Rattlers, now with a record of 20-17 and 15-3 in SWAC play, showcased their offensive prowess by outhitting MVSU 34-24 over the series. Notably, William Brown recorded two impressive three-run performances, contributing significantly to the team's success. On the mound, pitchers Tanner Walker, Garrett Workman, and Clark Lincoln secured victories for FAMU. Looking ahead, the Rattlers are set to face Bethune-Cookman University, a team they are currently tied with for first place in the SWAC, in a crucial three-game series starting on April 24. This matchup is particularly significant as it serves as a rematch of last year's SWAC Championship, where Bethune-Cookman emerged victorious. Additionally, FAMU's softball team also achieved a sweep against MVSU, winning all three games decisively, further solidifying the Rattlers' strong performance across sports.
