Thiruvottiyur Assembly Constituency, located in Thiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu, will participate in the upcoming 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. The Election Commission of India has announced 15 candidates from various political parties, including Kuppan K from the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), Mahendra Kumar D from the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), and Sundararaj L from the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPIM). The constituency is reserved for the General category and has a population where 13.41% belong to the Scheduled Caste community. With 240,586 voters, including 123,289 women, Thiruvottiyur boasts a literacy rate of 83.82% as per the 2011 Census. Voting is set for April 23, 2026, and counting will occur on May 4, 2026. In the last elections held in 2021, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK)-led Secular Progressive Alliance won 159 out of 234 seats, while the AIADMK-led National Democratic Alliance secured 75 seats.
