To improve last-mile connectivity and increase passenger numbers, Pune Metro, managed by the Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (Maha-Metro), is launching a dedicated feeder bus service. Currently, the average daily ridership stands at 1.88 lakh, with expectations to rise to 2.75 lakh once the new Pink Line (Line 3) is operational. The feeder service aims to provide buses every 5 to 10 minutes to enhance convenience for commuters. A pilot project will be initiated at one or two stations, with the decision on bus types pending a study. The Pune Metro is collaborating with the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd (PMPML) for this service, which will cover 23 routes with 85 PMPML buses, including 45 branded as Metro feeder services. Additionally, two e-buses and 30 e-scooters have been introduced to facilitate travel between stations and nearby IT parks and universities.
