A group of over 20 Congress legislators from Karnataka met with Randeep Singh Surjewala, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary in charge of the state, in New Delhi to advocate for a Cabinet reshuffle. The MLAs have been in the capital since April 12, pushing for Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to include senior legislators who have not yet been appointed to the ministry. Their demands include replacing those who have already served multiple terms as ministers. On April 13, they also met AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge to express their concerns regarding the need for a reconstitution of the Cabinet. Senior MLA TB Jayachandra emphasized that the delegation's primary agenda is the reshuffle, while also addressing leadership uncertainties in the state. However, their attempts to meet with senior national leaders have been hampered by busy parliamentary schedules, particularly as discussions on delimitation and women's reservation in legislatures are ongoing. Some party leaders have indicated that the decision for a reshuffle ultimately lies with the chief minister, suggesting the MLAs should return to Bengaluru.
