The Pallavaram Assembly Constituency, located in Kancheepuram district of Tamil Nadu, is preparing for the 2026 Assembly elections. The Election Commission of India has announced 16 candidates from various political parties, including V Venkatesan from the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) and D Murugesan from the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK). The constituency is reserved for the General category, with 16.37% of its population belonging to the Scheduled Caste community and 0.27% to the Scheduled Tribe community. Pallavaram has a total of 330,217 voters, comprising 161,197 men and 168,996 women, and boasts an 85.29% literacy rate as per the 2011 Census. Voting will take place on April 23, 2026, and the counting of votes is scheduled for May 4, 2026. In the previous 2021 elections, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and its allies won a significant majority, securing 159 out of 234 seats.
