In a troubling incident in Kothrud, Pune, a 47-year-old man named Pramod Basavaraj Handigund has been arrested for allegedly assaulting his wife after she refused to sign documents for the sale of their jointly owned flat. The altercation occurred on Wednesday morning at their residence on Paud Road. According to the wife's complaint, the couple had been discussing selling their property in Sararth Sinclair society in Warje, but she disagreed with the sale. This disagreement led to a heated argument, during which Handigund reportedly punched his wife in the nose, resulting in a fracture and significant bleeding. Neighbors assisted her in reaching the hospital for treatment. Following the incident, she filed a formal complaint at the Kothrud police station, prompting police to register a case against her husband under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which pertain to domestic violence and causing physical harm. The investigation is ongoing, and police have emphasized the seriousness of the allegations.
