Candidates from four major parties in Sholinganallur constituency, Chennai, participated in a meet-the-candidates event organized by the Federation of OMR Resident Associations (FOMRRA). Sitting MLA S Aravind Ramesh of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) addressed concerns about unfulfilled promises, particularly regarding piped water supply. He highlighted completed projects such as underground sewage systems and storm water drainage. KP Kandan, the AIADMK candidate and former MLA, pledged to ensure 137 litres of water per person if elected, citing his previous tenure's achievements in addressing local issues. TVK's ECR P Saravanamoorthy proposed a one-stop portal for residents to voice complaints, emphasizing the need to tackle traffic congestion, which currently causes 45-minute commutes. Jayalakshmi Raman of the Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) stressed the importance of quality infrastructure and education over political freebies. This event allowed residents, primarily IT professionals, to engage directly with candidates about their visions for one of Tamil Nadu's fastest-growing constituencies.
